Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010)

Not just Zombies but Zombies in..3D!!

Filmed using the same technology James Cameron pioneered to bring the world
Avatar is used in the newest chapter of the Resident Evil saga which explodes
to brilliant life on the screen as we follow Alice (Milla Jovovich) as her and a band
of surviors enjoy their afterlife.
Taking place a few months after the Third film (Extinction) we team up with Alice and
her clone army to take down the Umbrella HQ and then set off to what out what happen
to her friends who made their escape to Alaska at the end of the 3rd film.
She is shortly joined by new and old friends as they try to survive in a world over run
by the Undead.
I felt this movie didn't focus solely on the zombie aspect which was somewhat good
since that is what the previous films had done. This one is more about survival and finding
a place in a world over run with flesh eating monsters.
The Zombie make up and effects were very well done as well as both the physical and
and visual effects were very good.
As for the 3D? well that alone was truly impressive! it gave a true feeling that things such
as bullets and debris were actually flying at or past you, also stuff like blood or
water seemed to splash on your face.
The 3D was so good on the action scenes it was something that was beyond cool.
As for the action itself in general it was fast and furious at times and at other it was slowed
right down and very stylized. I personally think this movie is dripping with cool.
The story was good and can see this film being the wrap up for the series
(I heard they were only optioned to do 4 films) The action was pretty good you felt
and understood the characters especially Alice who feels she is responsible for everything
that has happened and is trying to atone for it. In the end I loved this move its a bit quick
with its run time (97 minutes) but I felt like it was longer probably becasue I was enjoying
it so much. Anyway if you enjoyed the previous ones you'll probably love this.

Only one question remains: Who would win in a fight between

The Axeman
(representing Resident Evil: Afterlife)
VS.
Pyramid Head (red)
(representing Silent Hill )
