Faster 2010

The Rock is back in action! *que Heavy metal guitar riff*

The first thing I noticed about this film was the opening logos
(yes the logos again) the first one was CBS Films and I was
thinking CBS Films? CBS as in the TV Channel??

Anyway after thinking about that I would have to say
this movie lived up to its name it was pretty fast. Your basic
story is just this: The Rock who's character is just called The
Driver (that is one think I liked about this was the main character's
names are more like titles The Driver, The Cop, The Killer..)
and his brother were bank robbers and they end up getting screwed
over by someone and it results in the Rock's brother getting killed.
After he gets out of Prison for the bank robbery's He goes on a mission to hunt
down the people who screwed him over and killed his brother.
The story is simple as that.

You end up finding out all the back story though flashback and there is 2 second subplots
from the main story involving as I mention above The Cop and The Killer. As the movie
rolls on you find out all the little details like the importance of the One Dollar Bills
(you have to watch to understand it). As for the movie itself it was quite good it was a good
revenge movie, The one man alone against the world to avenge a wrong done to him or
someone close to him. It reminded me of stuff like Walking Tall or Get Carter
(The Stallone version, I never the original) It has some very nice action as well as
some great car chases.
No real stunts I found it was pretty down and gritty not alot of Flash.
The music was pretty good also it was also very dramatic and Emotional at times I thought
it was a very well rounded and enjoyable watch.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader 2010

Well I finally seen the 3rd Narnia Film.
I have to say I never read the books I had only seen the movies.
Now I did like the first one it was easy to follow, I liked pretty much everything about it I'd say. Also for the second I'd have to say I didn't really enjoy the second I felt that it was the opposite of the first where it wasn't easy to follow and the story seemed to be everywhere and from what I remember it just seemed to be some what of a mess.

Now the Main reason I went to see this was that I had seen the other 2 and you can't leave things undone. I would have to say that it was a return to the first where where they actually have a quest and a some what straight forward adventure.
An Evil has griped Narnia and the heroes must journy to the heart of such evil and stop it
before it destroys everything. The one thing that I didn't like was there was no explanation
on where the "Evil" came from? it was some what like "The Nothing" in the Never Ending Story.
It's just there and is swallowing up everything.

Also there were a couple of thing I felt that were somewhat cliche like the Bratty
"know it all" cousin who doesn't believe in fantastical fairy tale things and through the
course of the film the experience of the adventure changes his mind and be becomes a
better person becasue of it. Another thing was the appearance of the sea serpent it reminded
me of the scene from Ghostbusters where Gozer says "Choose! Choose the form of the Destructor!"
and Ray thinks of the the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man.. I felt that it worked the same way.

Now the movie as a whole was pretty good, As I said above the story has a nice flow to
it there was a bit of humor and of course the production design was impressive as were
the creature character designs. The one footed elf like people where very interesting as
well as the Minotaur (who was of course in the previous films) and the Dragon.

There was done beautifully with as well as the rest of the Visual effects in the film.
The movie had some really nice action pieces mixed in with the questing story.
So it was an enjoyable watch and a nice closing to the series.

Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers! 1988

Now by that title it just screams Watch me! doesn't it?
I actually ended up watching this becasue some people I know were
talking about it being released on DVD so as you can see from some
of the previous posts I do like to watch some of the
more "different" movies

According to IMBd the main plot of this film is as follows:

"Jack Chandler is a private eye tracking down Samantha the runaway. In his travels, he comes across a gang of chainsaw wielding prostitutes that like to carve people up for their cult."

Now first off a cult of chainsaw wielding prostitutes is funny in itself!

Now this film was filed with plenty of camp and loads of laughs
I don't know if they tried to be cheesy and campy becasue at times
it did seem that they were trying to be serious at times but I think
that just made it more funny.

but like I said this movie was pretty funny from the title to
a Disclaimer that reads:
"The CHAINSAWS used in this Motion Picture are REAL and DANGEROUS! They are handled here by seasoned PROFESSIONALS. The makers of this Motion Picture advise strongly against anyone attempting to perform these stunts at home. Especially if you are naked and about to engage in strenuous SEX. My conscience is clear, (signed) Fred Olen Ray."

The writing in this was funny especially alot of the Narration
there is rubber body parts flying about with buckets of fake blood.

There is scenes in a bar/strip club and one of the things I noticed
that was kind of funny is there's a kid sitting at the bar?
which is something out of play and that is something that this movie
like to do is have thing out of place.

Now being that there is Hookers in this and like mention before
there is a strip club type of bar and I would have to say there
was some nice nudity in this and some plenty of nice look
tits especially on the character of Mercedes (Michelle Bauer)

But all in all this movie would I say ahem..."Climaxes"
with what is called the "Virgin Chainsaw dance"
which is then followed by a actual Chainsaw Duel!

but like I said this move isn't anything serious if you want
to watch something that is completely off the wall then watch this.

End Credits:
Coming Soon! Student Chainsaw Nurses! "Bad to the Bone!!"

Tangled 2010

Biased on the original story of Rapunzel comes the Disney adaptation "Tangled" of course in 3D!
Now I know what you're thinking. This is some piece of "Disney princess crap" why are you watching it?
Well you would be wrong on it being crap and the reason I went to see this is because the trailers and previews looked funny and it is no lie this movie was hilarious! I felt that every joke and gag was a hit it will have you laughing out loud that's for sure. I would have to say probably 2 of the funnest characters were the little chameleon "sidekick" Pascal and the ever faithful and Mighty horse Max (or Maximus). Not only did I find this movie funny but this movie has a fair bit of action which is really well done and very quite exciting which brings me to the animation.

I would have to say the animation alone is amazing its is very fluid and life like I was just somewhat blown away by that alone. You could probably watch this with the sound off and still get that wow effect. I would have to say that it was all the little things character wise that really sold this to me. Such as the scene in the woods where Flynn Rider is telling Rapunzel the story about his childhood and she kind of scoots her butt towards him more and puts her head in her hands eager to listen. I felt that was very life like and very realistic in the animation. It was all kinds of stuff like that the little thing that really sold this for me.

Personally I would have to say this was one of the absolute best animated films I seen in 2010, I would also go so far and say it was also one of the best animated films I have seen ever!

As for the Character modeling and design it was excellent. I did like how everything looked and the whole feel of the world I can't really complain. I also thought at first they were going to over do it with the music and make it bloated like the previous film The Princess and the Frog (its the fifth one down on the link) but it is nice and evenly spaced out.

The voice acting was great Mother Gothel (voiced by Donna Murphy) some what made me think of a Female version of Jafar from Aladdin. I also thought the voice for the Captain of the Guard was Robert Remus (better know as Sgt. Slaughter) but in fact it was M.C. Gainey.

In the end I greatly enjoyed this movie. I have to say I loved it quite a bit and that is pretty much all I have to say.

The Social Network (2010)

First off I have to say I'm not a big fan of the whole Facebook thing. I am not on Facebook and I feel there is no need to be on Facebook to begin with I find it at this time a waist of time I know people who spend countless hours on there its just not for me. what would I write about? and who would actually care about what I'm doing. Now true it does have some benefits but in my view the other stuff out weighs the good. Like with this (the blog) what I am doing here I have some thing to write about I have a goal, on Facebook what is the goal?
Speaking of which we should get back on track..

Now first off David Fisher Directed this and well I did like this other movies like Se7en and Zodiac but a movie about Facebook?...ok?
and I was also surprised that Keven Spacy was a producer. When it comes to movies like this I always wonder how much of it is actually true and how much of it is was just I guess you would say "made up for the movie" much like the film "Pirates of Silicon Valley" which is about the creation of Microsoft if you ever get a chance to see that one you should do so.
anyway I was very pleased how this movie turned out the one thing I really liked that actually caught my eye was the editing and how it was done it was very interesting it seemed to jump back and forth from the passed to the present/future like the characters were actually telling the story of how this all came about and everything leading up to that point. One main thing I did find odd about this was the background music I felt that it didn't really fit into the over all film the music to me sounded so foreboding at times like it was this ominous thing that was suppose to happen, it was suspenseful I didn't understand why it was used for this film what can I really say it probably wouldn't have been my choice.
One of the things I like about the movie was the character of Zuckerberg the way he was presented in this film made me laugh about becasue he reminded me a lot of myself in various situations which brought up the question does he have ADHA or possibility Asperger's Syndrome?
I don't know if he does or not you could probably easily find that out but from this it makes me think that he does.

I also liked how the University president handled the complaint from the Winklevoss (that name in itself is a crime, it sounds like some type of elf) I don't believe that they had the right to sue Zuckerberg over Facebook from what I know which was presented in the film, I don't think they had an offical contract with him to make a social network site. From that I remember the Winklevoss asked Zuckerberg to help them with a "school project" and they tell him their idea which was basically a rip off of Myspace (which is of course mentioned in the movie) and he takes that idea and doesn't really do anything for them and builds something of this own based on that idea that they shared with him they can't really sue him. Now if they had stuff already made and copyrighted then sure but from what I could see in the film I don't think they did . They were just doing a thing for school and Zuckerberg made it global.

Also speaking of Pirates of Silicon Valley there is a scene in here of "Bill Gates " talking to students about the next big computer idea during a lecture at the University that this takes place at.

Now another aspect of this was the breaking up of a friendship which is not always good what happened to Eduardo was very sad and shouldn't have happened , especially not the way it did. you have to feel sorry for him especially when you see him with that Christy he was dating she was one crazy ass bitch! but still he was screwed over by what I could see as his best friend.
Now with something like this there are usually two types of people there is creative people and there are business people. Zuckerberg is creative and Eduardo is business. Also from time to the time business and creative don't get along all creative wants to do is create and business is worrid about money and they but heads alot over costs of doing projects.
Now these two were good friends and they would have remained that way if there wasn't outside interference Sean Parker of Napster fame who became some what of Zuckerberg's mentor and who is portrayed as this crazy/paranoid guy who thinks everyone is out to get him . Now the problem with Parker is that he is also a creative guy and does have some influence with Zuckerberg, 2 creative guys on the same page they usually form a fast bond and that isn't good for Eduardo who is the lone Business man. Eventually being that they are "best friends" now Parker starts becoming a bad infulence and begins to start talking Zuckerberg into doing things that he really shouldn't and that is when Eduardo starts to loose control of the situation which leads to this explousion from the company being from what I could see Parker starts telling Zuckerberg he is better off with out him which isn't true and leads to the sad conlusion.
But in the end the film was very good and was of course deserving of all the praise that it was given.
