Mazes and Monsters 1982

How many have seen this? This was a tv movie way back in 1982.
and it stared a young Tom Hanks.
I remember seeing the last little ending piece of it and have been looking
to watch the whole thing for quite some time.
This is one of those cautionary tales that is put out when some thing becomes
very popular and it shows that the "popular thing" has a dark side.
the films message is basically in my opinion is "don't take part in the popular thing,or this will happen to you just the same way it did for the main character!"

It is kinda of a scare tactic. in a lot of ways like the film below this one called
"Catfish" where the message was "every woman you meet online is not who she says she is..." they try to make it look like this is a dark side to it. I'm temped to say "They" being no one really knows who "they" are. I will say "People" so people have been doing this for years. with everything from Horror movies, to video games, to even Pokemon cards.

This movie is no different. It basically follows the story of Robbie(Hanks) who apparently was kicked out of this last school for this obsession with the game Mazes and Monsters (which of course is a Dungion and Drangons table top style RPG (Role Playing Game)
so he tries to start in a new school after kicking his habit.

This is where he meets Kate, Daniel and Jay Jay who are players of the game and need
a 4th person to play. Unbeknown to them they sign up poor Robbie.
all things are going well and the group is having fun, now things don't get bad until
the character of Jay Jay introduces a LARP (Live Action Role-Playing Game for those of you not in the know) aspect to the game where they leave the board behind and start playing it in the local caves
that have been condemned and at this point this seems to start to push Hank's Robbie of the edge
and he starts to loose grip on reality and begins to think the evens in the game are real
and disapears and goes off on a "quest" fulled by visions of his long lost brother
letting his friends and the town think he had died in a horrible death in the caves
but instead he is rescued by his friends in the end before jumping off the roof of one
of the Twin Towers in New York, believing he could fly.

Now this was an alright movie for its time especially on tv.
The acting was pretty good but you don't get to see much out of Hanks at least I didn't think
so he being pretty much the main character he didn't have as I seen it a big role in this the film
was pretty much carried by this co-stars the people who played his friends.
The creature effects were some what neat and the music at times had a very scary tone
it was either light and beautiful or some one spooky and frighting.

Now it does put a negative light one the whole RPG style of gaming
as if it is to say "if you play this stuff you will become crazy and suicidal"
which is not true Hank's Robbie went insane not because of the game but more
from the the issues he had before playing like those of the guilt of this brother.
Yes there have been cases where people have taken things a bit to far but
you can't blame a hand full of cases and then stamp it dangerous.

Now I personally enjoy enjoy some role playing i don't do it the same why
they do it I do like things like Final Fantasy and am currently playing
DC Universe Online I also role play on the Internet and Have a couple of characters
I use for that as well. It is plenty of fun and I do enjoy it greatly and there is times
where you can get carried away but you must always remain that focus
it is fun to live in a fantasy world for a couple of hours a few nights a week
but you can't let it take over you life.
The way I see it It is alot like acting, your playing a role hence the title
Role playing Game.

Now even though this move does bring up real dangers , it also exaggerated
them to the extremes. RPGing and to an extent LARPing can be fun and exciting
as long as it is not take to seriously. So in the end the movie was alright
but I don't believe it was a fair account or a fair representation of the RPG
gaming community.

A Farewell to Smallville.

About 10 years ago a little show call Smallville hit televisions all about the world. The premise of the show was quite simple. It was going to tell the story of how a Teenage farm boy by the name of Clark Kent became the worlds greatest Hero know to one and all as Superman.

Now before the show started I was quite skeptical at first being a long time
fan of Superman and probably one of this greatest fans. I did not want it to be
done poorly or cheesy or have anything that would tarnish how I looked at the character. Like all fans I don't really like to much change but I like to
be open minded.

Now sadly I did not get to see it when it premiered being when it started
(in September of 2001 where I live) being that I was just went away for
college but a friend of mine tapped the first few episodes of it for when I
came home for Thanksgiving. I started watching it and I remember saying
"Wow, this is really good!" and it was it was taken seriously and was
fun and interesting. So I was hooked and I had viewed every episode
for the series 10 year run and I would have to say I enjoyed every
second of it.

Now true when the series started and went along I did have a few upsets
in the beginning. One was with faithful Chloe Sullivan.
"Chloe wasn't part of The DC Continuity she has no right to be there
rah rah rah" Yes that was me at one point Chloe to me seemed like
she was half Lois and half Lana.
Now it is true thought out the years she grew on me and I did
come to respect her as a character and did see her as an important
part of the series. This appreciation for Chloe probably came around
season 3 and into Season 4 I think and of course later on into series.

Also speaking of Season 4 when none other then Lois made her appearance
and again I was all "Its to soon for Lois in The DC Continuity she doesn't
meet him until after he becomes Superman so she has no right to be there
rah rah rah" yes its true I didn't think she was Lois until I gave her
a chance. Now after all these years later I would like to personally
say thank you to Erica Durance for being Lois Lane for being My Lois.
she became how I always pictured the character with her brash toughness
and her ability to easily get in to trouble and not be afraid to fight her way
out. for having that sassy brat attitude where if kicking you in the balls
got her the story then you better be wearing a cup, but at the same time
having that vulnerability that hides behind the toughness.

Now as for Lois and Clark together after I had gotten over the
whole her being there I started to see it and feel it and I thought
they had real chemistry it didn't feel fake it actually felt like these
two people were together and belonged together. The seemed like they were
a team like Lois and Clark are and should be, it never felt forced like it did
in say Superman Returns.
Also I did like the aspect of her knowing he was "Super" before actually
becoming Superman. I thought that was an interesting aspect to the over all
story that Lois had more of a hand in crafting Clark's dual identity then
just giving him the name.

Not only the women but everyone did so well at their parts they truly
defined these roles. Tom Welling was truly a Super man.
he in my opinion showed just how well this character can be played
even though he wasn't "Superman" until the very last episode of the
10 year run he was an excellent Superman regardless if he had a costume
or not.
Michael Rosenbaum was a brilliant Lex Luthor cold calculating, driven
and truly evil and I am so please that he returned for the final episode
it wouldn't have be able to end with out him.

Also this wasn't just a show about Clark Kent's journey to become Superman
it was a journey about the rise and creation of not only Superman but of
the DC Universe itself. With in its 10 year run we were able to see many
DCU characters enter a Live action world with in the confines of Smallville
character we would probably not be able to see anywhere else.
Characters like Zatanna, Doctor Fate, Hawkman, The Wonder Twins,
The Legion of Superheroes, Booster Gold, The Female Furies,
Green Arrow & Aquaman, Black Canary, Silver Banshee, Darkseid and
even Doomsday.. and things like the formation of the Justice League, as well as
Earth 2 and Apokolips!
That is only to name a few things.
Everything was taken seriously from Toyman, to Brainiac, to Supergirl
and that is one of the reasons why it was so good.
it was more then a show it was a fan experience and the show was truly for the fans.

So in closing I know I'm probably leaving something out or forgetting
something that I wanted to say, but I can always come back to this and
edit it later. but like I said in closing I just wanted to thank you
Smallville for the the laughs, for the smiles, for the enjoyment and
for making dreams come true.

Again Thank you.

Bald (2008)

This was one of those direct to video movies that you see at the video store your basic plot is as follows:

Its basically one of those ones that looks like a bunch of film students gathered together and made this . Now there was some good to this movies there was alot of nice nudity right from the start and that is basically all that this movie has going for it is the nudity. I would have to say the character of " Shirtless Cynthia " was my favorite but other then that the rest of this move was pretty much crap.

Most of all the characters come off as stereotypical there is is guy who is all just smoking huge joints and there is alot of just plain random shit going on that is not even funny

Now some of the internal monologs by the main character were a bit humorous at times but pretty much the movie wasn't . Some of the outtakes at the end of the movie were funnier then the entire movie itself .

There is a scene where they have a infomercial and that was just weird.
One of the people playing a parent in the movie looks like Pro wrestler DDP (Dimond Dallas Page for you not in the know) and one of the funny thing of this is when the Main character and his friends gather in the " war room" for a scene where they plan on taking on the parents you can notice the blue screen effect for the aquarium becasue it glitches and moves oddly and the shark keeps resetting itself which is rather funny.
also the paint ball scene was very stupid.
Like I said this while movie was not very good for a comedy it wasn't very funny and if you were to watch it for the nudity alone that would be a waist of time.

Cujo (1983)

Now Honestly I never Truly actually sat down and watched this until recently I have seen bits and pieces of it here and there over the years but never truly the whole thing I personally thought the dog would be bigger but this was pretty much before what we can do in the movies now if. If they were to do a remake of this film now a days they would probably make the dog a fully CG creature to ass more size and monstrosity to it.

Now personally I thought this movie was amazing it truly personified the term "Survival Horror" the Directing was very skillful and there was not very much music but when there was it was perfect, truly spooky and fearful. Also speaking of fearful the acting was brilliant! you can see the true terror in the faces of the mom and son the reactions were beyond impressive and very truthful. This was fear in its truest form it was desperation and horror about a situation that they would probably actually die, that there was no hope left.
During the scenes in the car and the kid was passing out and finding it hard to breath I was wondering did he have Asama or some respiratory problem or was it just heat stroke or something along those lines.

One of the thing that bugged me was when the cop showed up and see the blood on the door handle with that evidence that something was going on he should have then and there drawn his gun . and announced that her was there. like they usually do "This is Officer such and such from the sheriffs department" the sound would have drawn out the dog and he could have shot it right then and there. I mean that is what I probably would have done.
Also the ending to this was really really good but it came really quick.
Anyway it was a excellent and very terrifying movie to say the least.

Megamind (2010)

I wanted to see this since the trailers appeared it looked funny and of course I did go and see it in 3D OoOoOoO...

It is basically the story of lets say Superman & Lex Luthor but told from the Villain's perspective (on a side note there was a Superman story told from Luthor 's perspective called Lex Luthor : Man of Steel, you should check it out anyway) the basic plot is of course Hero VS. Villain where Megamind couldn't be the hero so he eventually becomes the villain and apparently achieves whet every villain strives for the otter destruction of the hero.
but the celebration is short lived when Megamind realizes his grave error and tries to rectify it with disastrous results. Sadly even though Megamind is an evil genius he isn't so smart with this super-sized blunder he creates but in the end with a little help from friends Mega Mind gets his wish and proves there is a Hero in all of us even the Villain.

As for the film itself it was of course brilliantly done the animation was flawless the voice acting was excellent and the character designs were great . I especially liked the character simply know as "Minion" He would have to be my favorite. As for the writing it was pretty good there were some great jokes and some funny references and many of the Superman related ones were very good especially the parody of marlon Brando's Jor-El simply know as "Space Dad" that also made me laugh. Although there were some good laughs I didn't think it was as funny as people are saying it is or was meant to be. But in all fairness the movie was good and I really did enjoy it .

Skyline (2010)

Well there isn't much to be said about this one. I went to see it basically becasue the trailers looked cool. It is basically across between ID4, the remake of War of the worlds (staring Tom Cruse ) and has a little pinch of Cloverfeild and a pinch of District 9 to round it out. your basic plot is as follows:

"Jarrod and his pregnant girlfriend Elaine travel to Los Angeles to meet his old friend and successful entrepreneur Terryand his wife Candice. After a night of partying the group is woken up by strange lights descend on the city of Los Angeles, drawing people outside like moths to a flame where an extraterrestrial force threatens to swallow the entire human population off the face of the Earth and this group must survive an alien invasion that they seemingly are thrust into."

As for the movie itself there isn't much explanation I think that was done for a reason also the same reason the movie just ended the way it did by just stopping at one point I think that this is being set up as a possible series and the actual back story will be explained in up coming films. Because the way I see it the aliens aren't just going to drop out of the sky for no reason and start tearing the place up, they want something and it will probably be reviled later on. Will Smith said it best " Look, I really don't think they flew 90 billion light years to come down here and start a fight. Get all rowdy. "

Speaking of Aliens the creature designs and ships were very impressive, imaginative and interesting . The effects as well as the action was very well done , At one point I thought the aliens were kinda stupid having not shielding on their ships and were easily taken down but these ones proved they do have some tricks of their own .
There were some nice shots and cinematography it was a bit light on story but like I said I think its the first chapter of something bigger. Also it wasn't long as long in run time as I thought it did feel longer .
I also was thinking about the alien powers wouldn't a very dark or mirrored glass/lends protect you from their "weapon"
Also I kind of understand the thing with the brains but would like to know more about the creatures anyway. This is a interesting film with nice action and good visuals I would like to see how the story unfolds.

Follow up:
While getting this post ready to put up I was on IMDb and yes this is a listing for Skyline 2
apparently it is listed for release in 2012.

Red (2010)

R.E.D which stand for Retired and Extremely Dangerous

Now I did get a chance to read the books when they came out which of course was a shame I had seen them but didn't get a chance to pick them up.
Now the film starts out kinda slow with Bruce Willis character not really enjoying retirement and finding it hard to fill in the days after a life of action and adventure and ends up having a over the phone relationship with a female operation (played by Mary-Louise Parker) at the agency he use to work for. The film begins to pick up speed when operitives are sent to kill Willis after taking them out he goes on the run and gets his "old" team back to together and takes along Sarah Ross (the operator played by Mary-Louise Parker) that he was talking to becasue she may be in danger. With the team back together the group goes on one more adventure.
This action comedy comes along the lines of other films such as the A-Team and the Losers.
Some notable scenes where the Duct tape one after Wills' & Parker's characters meet and the whole stunt you see in the trailer of him stepping out of the car while it was still moving which was very cool when you watch the whole thing also the scene in the elevator with the "contact lens" was very funny you can tell that Parker's character was just happy to be there and taking part in this adventure . The movie itself was fun, exciting and very enjoyable the music was great and the editing and transitions were cool one of the best parts of the movie was the character of Marvin he was one of the best in the whole movie itself especially with the stuffed pig I didn't know why it was so important until I found out. All in all the film was good and do recommend giving it a watch if you want to have some laughs and some nice action.

Thor and the Hulk

Now, while getting some stuff ready for more updates I thought I would take a breakand have something to eat and in anticipation of Marvel Studios big budget Thor I would watch the original Live action Thor.

Now i know what your thinking "There wasn't a Live Action Movie about Thor before?!?"
and that is true, but that doesn't mean there wasn't a Live Action Thor.
Way back in 1988 in "The Incredible Hulk Returns" Thor was a guest star and Teamed up in classic Marvel style with the Lou Ferrigno Hulk.

You can see him to your left. Yes that is Thor. Now as a kid I thought that was
a pretty good version of Thor and I still do think for the time it was a good Thor.
Now of course this New Thor is more comic book inspired and be able to do things
that Thor can actually do thanks to the achievements in digital technology.

Speaking of which I do thank Odin for the achievements in digital technology.
especially when it come to the Hulk, I so enjoy the Digital Hulk from say
The Incredible Hulk (2008) so much more then watching a green painted Lou Ferrigno
snarl and flex and cower from bullets and who doesn't seem to be able to pull down
one helicopter. The Hulk doesn't cower and could actually throw that Helicopter to the
Moon! That is why the Digital Hulk will always be superior to Ferrigno simply becasue
you can have the Digital Hulk rip apart tanks with his bare hands, demolish buildings
and leap great distances in a single bound and do things the Hulk actually does.

But of course this isn't about the Hulk he is just part of it, this is more about Thor
and yes Chris Hemsworth will be the one who will be recognized as Thor
but he was not the first, not the original Eric Kramer was.

Also as a side note Ben Affleck wasn't the First Daredevil
Rex Smith appeared in The Trial of the Incredible Hulk
as the Blind Lawyer Matt Murdock and Super Hero Daredevil.
also John Rhys Davies appeared as Wilson Fisk aka The Kingpin if you can
believe that.

Black Swan (2010)

Well Now this should be an interesting one..

First off I'm not into ballet I never was its not really my thing
but being that everyone talked about this movie there was so much said and it went to the Oscars and won some awards (now winning doesn't automatically make it good) but wit hall that said and don't I thought
I would give it a watch.

This stars both Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis and various thing that they did in this film were highly talked about and publicized.

from what I figured is that Portman who plays this very shy and
innocent girl lands the role of a life time by playing the lead
role in a stage production of Swan Lake. but as opening night
draws closer she seems to descend into some type of madness
like I'm talking totally crazy with of course apparently some help
from Kunis who shows her how to be a bad girl or maybe it is all just
in Portman's head?

Now with in the first 20mins of this film I was saying
"this is one odd movie" I didn't know what was going on.
When Mila Kunis shows up Portman seems threatened and fearful
of Kunis, who doesn't seem to acknowledge Portman until the first
25mins.

While watching this I like trying to figure it out
and I'm thinking is portman's character actually crazy
or this is a decent into madness. She starts to see
all kinds of crazy stuff and I begin to wonder what is
real and what isn't? like the old guy on the subway
was he really there? also she keep seeing people who
look just like her everywhere.
and there are painting laughing at her and what appear to
be ghost following her, as well as her growing wings and feathers?!?
and that part where she apparently kills Mila Kunis but doesn't...?
I'm all "what, the what?"

Now I might not catch all the little subtle nuances and symbolism
and all that is this film that apparently make it a brilliant masterpiece
but come on I would like to be able to understand what I'm watching.

The best way I can describe this film is that is it a female version
of Fight Club. Yes Fight Club staring Edward Norton and Brad Pitt
none other.
where Natalie Portman would be Edward Norton and
Mila Kunis would kind of be like Brad Pitt.
Now I know some might not agree with that but just thinking about it.
watch one then the other and you can kind of see where the two are some
what similar.

Now I can see why the film won and Oscar with its masturbation scenes
as well as its make-out sessions and lesbian sex scene lol
but seriously yes Natalie Portman was very good in this and you can
truly see her go through a vast array of emotions and does truly
amazing performance and her win was well deserved.

Also this film does have some very nice camera work in it
and its not one that you would thing would need or have
visual effects but when things do start to get crazy
and weird the visual effects were nicely done.

but in the long run this movie has plenty of "WTF?!?"
and that is pretty much it. some are calling it a drama
but I would put it in that one I think it leans more to being a
thriller then anything else...

Catfish (2010)

before doing anything lets start off with what a "Catfish" is in Internet Terminology A catfish is someone who pretends to be someone they're not using Facebook or other social media to create false identities, particularly to pursue deceptive online romances.

Now professional critics have claimed that this film was "Jawdrobing", "Gripping"
and "More Killer Suspense then you'll find in a Dozen Thrillers!"

I personally did not think it was any of these. For people to say it was
they must not use the internet an awful alot or just be new to the internet itself.

Also I have seen this film marked as based on true events and called
"the most shocking, horrifying thriller of the passed decade!"

I don't agree with that either, like I said above sure if you don't use the internet
an awful alot or just be new to the internet itself I guess you could say it was..
personally I think this movie like many movies of its type suffer from BWP Syndrome
which stands for Blair Witch Project Syndrome. Basically what that is that they
put out one of these "Reality Thrillers" or "Reality Horror" movies as they seem to be calling them now becasue I guess they didn't like the term "Mockumentary" and the marketing
is very good but the movie itself is not and it feels like its in the wrong gene and
doesn't live up to what they said it was. Blair Witch was a prime example, another example
I would have to say was the First Paranormal Activity and of course this one.
let me set it up what this film is basically about:

In late 2007, filmmakers Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost sensed a story unfolding as they began to film the life of Ariel's brother, Nev. They had no idea that their project would lead to the most exhilarating and unsettling months of their lives. A reality thriller that is a shocking product of our times, Catfish is a riveting story of love, deception and grace within a labyrinth of online intrigue.

That is the official Plot Summary from Universal.

But basically what happens is Nev receives a painting from a 8 year old girl named
abby based off a photo he had taken. So he and Abby start up a friendship through
facebook and soon there after adds all of her apparent family members (which he then dubs
the Facebook Family) including Abby's very attractive older sister Megan, who Nev
of course starts up an online relationship with that seems to go quickly south (quickly
in movie terms apparently they were chatting for 8 Months) and him with his film maker
brother and brother's partner in film making the 3 set out to discredit Megan and her
family and discover the truth!!

when they started talking about this I knew what the story was going to be
this guy starts talking to this girl they get into a relationship and he
finds out that she is someone else. It was quite simple really to figure out
the only reason I watched the movie is I wanted to know what he finds out
is she a guy? or some 500lbs woman who can't get out of bed or what.

Now first off if some little girl messages you on the internet
don't start up a conversation with her and become "online pen pals"
chances are this isn't a little girl, I guess these guys doesn't
watch alot of TV and never hear of a little show called "To catch a Predator"
and the thing is the "family" didn't have a problem with him talking to
their 8 year old daughter. Now if some strange little girl messages me,
and said they did a painting of a photo I took and sent it to me
I would thank them but not maintain the communication for the fact
that she is a 8 year old girl. Also he is talking to the mom "Angela"
on the phone and she couldn't be happier of his interest in her daughter.
I don't know about anyone else but if someone is taking an interest in
my 8 year old I would want to know what is going on especially online.

Then shortly after (in movie time of course) he starts up an apparent
relationship with Megan and they chat for a while and then she tells
him a "fib" involving some music files and the whole lid blows off this
thing this is with in the first 20-24mins of the movie (up to this point
the Characters of NEV & Megan have been talking for about 8 months)
so everyone gets in this big up roar and Nev even exclaims and succumbs
to the cliche and says some thing like "have I been chatting to a
guy all this time?" Now I think some of the
reactions in this movie seem phony and somewhat staged.
were re shot, pre planned, and not all filmed spontaneously.
I don't know but it just seemed that way then at the time
I was thinking if she isn't who she says she is where did she
get all the photos and videos and all that stuff?

So Nev being lied to by someone on the Internet (Heavens no!
people lie on the Internet?!?) wants to stop the relationship
but the other 2 don't and actually push him to continue doing
it. Now if I had doubts about it I would have ended it
say that I feel it wasn't working out and I was having
different feelings.

Not only did they push him to continue but they set out
to disprove and dis credit this person that he met online
they end up going back and looking at some of the chats
and finding a few more fibs and the 3 of them come up
with a brilliant idea lets go to Ishpeming, Michigan
and confront this person face to face with cameras rolling!
to which I thought,"ok.. What?"

so I was thinking as these guys made their trip there
how wonderful it must be to have all kinds of money
to just drop everything and drive the 19 hours
from New York to Ishpeming, Michigan that's 1,154 miles
just becasue someone lied to you on the internet?
and I bet your thinking what does money have to do
with it? well u have 3 guys need gas for the car
and if they don't have a car they would have to rent one
round trip have to maybe stop to eat and other meals
and hotel room(s) all that that.
Hell if I could go and confront ever one who lied to
me on the Internet it would be like the end of
Jay and Silent Bob strike Back, I'd be all over the place.

Now honestly spending all this money and time
to go to Michigan to "learn the truth" X-Files style
is a waist of time in my view if they felt things
were not right Nev should have just stopped talking to
"Megan" I mean come on he was being told that
the little girl Abby had her own art gallery on
downtown main street and had sold paintings for $7000
(that's an actual price quoted in the film) No one is going
to pay some little girl $7000 for a painting she did
unless she is an artistic genius and the paintings
in the film are not worth $7000.
Also a very wise woman once said "if it doesn't make
sense it probably isn't true"

Away they arrive at "Megan's" house/horse ranch that
she supposedly bought and it looks deserted like
no one lives there so the guys get a hotel room and decide
to crash the "Sunday morning breakfast" and just show
up at the family home unannounced and demand they produce
"Megan" and come the next day that is exactly what they
do.
And to the utter surprise of the 3 guys Angela (the Mother)
doesn't look anything like her facebook picture! (gasp, shock!)
and neither does her Husband/boyfriend Vince(?)! (gasp, shock!)
rather then being the attractive facebook couple they
are presented as which was no real surprise.
Angela is actually a somewhat short, chubby woman in
her say mid 40s and the husband/boyfriend is a disheveled
scruffy looking fellow and they live with their 2
mentally & physically challenged sons.
The guys request both Megan and Abby to which a real little
girl is produced who is Abby Angela's daughter
and while speaking with Abby and her friend it is
reviled that Abby doesn't paint it is her mom
who does all the paintings (gasp which is more of a yawn
mild shock) So unable to produce an actual Megan
Angela (who is actually Megan, no shock there) being faced
with Nev and his friends being there in person tries to get
rid of her fake identity by saying she had checked into some
type of clinic for alcoholism! LOL!!

but in the end she comes clean about who she is
and all her secrets about the world of Megan
the actual "Facebook" Megan is some model from Washington
that is where she had gotten all the pictures from.

After the big reveal which wasn't big at all it was suspected
from the beginning. I was thinking about the motivation why would
she do this? what was her reason? but then I thought of the
quote from the Dark Knight the story that Alfred tells Bruce
about the Bandit in Burma stealing the rubes.
and he tells Bruce after he questions why steal them if your
just going to throw them away he tells him:
"Because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't
looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought,
bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the
world burn." Which means people will do things just for the
sake of doing them there doesn't have to be a reason.

Now after thinking about that they do come up with a reason
apparently she was using it as an escape from her real life
she apparently was unpleased with some of the choices in her life
that were made some of the things she did or didn't do, so she apparently
was living vicariously through this "Megan" creation becasue she had
the life that Angela wanted and wished she had.

During the end of the move after all things were
reviled Nev seemed to have this sense of pride like he
solved one of mankind's greatest mysteries by exposing this
person for the fraud that they were. he was asking her questions
like "were you hoping you would get caught"
he was acting like he was the worlds greatest detective
and trust me this Nev guy is no Sherlock Homes
and he is surely no Batman. If he was truly so smart
it wouldn't have taken him 8-9 months. hell it took
the 3 of them all that time. He could have
done many things to figure out the truth if he really
wanted to in the first month or week instead of embarking
on this stupid crusade.

Also I found it quite odd that out of all the millions and
millions of people on Facebook that she picked him?
and I also found it odd that she was somewhat so close to him
they just lived like a days drive away? isn't that kind of
convenient? What would he have done if she lived in Texas
or Los Angles? or hell in Vancouver, Canada? or even
over in London England? would they hop on a plane
and leave the USA just to prove someone on Facebook
is not who they say they are?
Also what is up with that Nev guy there were quite a
few times he was on camera with his hand down his pants?
what the hell man? I don't need to see you touching you
junk on camera.

In the end this movie was yes, stupid.
predictable from the get go.
this was not:
"Jawdrobing", "Gripping", it was not a
thriller and did not have one lick of suspense.
it was not "Marvelous" or "Engrossing".
its certainly not the "Most intriguing film of the year."
it definitely wasn't "full of surprises"
and surely not "One of the most haunting movies around"
in short this movie is none of the above it is just
a very sad and rather pathetic film.

Sure its all that stuff if you don't use the internet
at all and you don't know anything about it.

they seem like they are trying to expose some sort
of seedy underbelly type of thing but this is
far from it, people do this all the time. I know
people who do what she did and are far better at it
then she could ever hope to be.

Also the people in this film don't come off as being
all that intelligent. She was in my view smarter then
him and his friends put together.
He has to learn how to use the internet property
I for one take it all at face value, if someone I'm talking
to online says they are this, that and the other thing
I'm not going to go out of my way to discredit or disprove
what they said, I'm not going to mount a crusade to
this persons house just to prove that what they say
is untrue. That in itself is crazy.
So in the end I say the guys were more crazy then she was

My final opinion This movie was actually nothing..its basically
a movie about 2 people meeting on Facebook and one of them
is not truthful (Now I'm sure he told her alot of stuff that
wasn't truthful) and one of them setting out to prove
that the other lied and getting it all on camera.

also this movie from my view has 2 messages one good and one bad
1. Be careful who you talk to online, which is true.
but
2. it gives the wrong impression that everyone will or anyone online
will lie to you and anyone who is for example attractive is actually
either a fat guy or some middle age woman. Which is unfair to a
certain point.

but as always if u want to watch go ahead but it was nothing I
haven't seen before.
