Kick Ass

I went to see this becasue the idea really spoke to me and the trailers
looked very good, funny and had action. and I would have to say that
Kick Ass is one of the best movies I seen this year so far. this movie truly
kicks ass! The movie was very good it had a lot of action and was a bit violent
but not needlessly violent though I think it was a important part of the experience the
main character goes through. I thought it was a realistic depiction of what would happen
for the most part if you just threw on a costume and went out and fought crime with
now powers or abilities to fall back on it just doesn't work and the character
of Kick Ass finds that out quick. They do bring up the idea of Batman where he has
no powers and is just a regular guy but you have to look at it in the way that
where it is technically possible to become Batman you would have to do what he
did and spend 15-20 years learning how to become The Batman learn all the stuff
he had learned where Batman has skill and technology on his side Kick Ass does not.
I'd say he is more like Casey Jones from Ninja Turtles. He was surely unprepared for
heroing where as the Character of Big Daddy and his daughter Hit Girl were more
prepared and able to do it. He seemed to have a form of ceramic body armor and be more
technical as well as have some skill unlike Kick Ass. a little knowledge and prep time goes
along way there is a old comic book saying "Batman's greatest superpower is
prep time" but as I said the movies was fantastic the action and stunts
were impressive the humor was sharp, witty and very funny. The story
itself was very good you could draw parallels from these "real world" character
and actual comic characters where as Big Daddy and his daughter Hit Girl
were like a cross between Batman&Robin and The Punisher and as I said
Kick Ass is more like Casey Jones, as well as Red Mist and his father
came off kind of like Wilson Fisk (the Kingpin) and Harry Osborn.
and its true I would like to be a Superhero also but I know it takes
more then just throwing on a costume and walking around the city
I wouldn't do it unless I had powers like invulnerability or at least
be nigh-invulnerable lol. but all in all this was a fantastic film
if you ever wish of being a superhero give it a watch.

Earth 2100

At first I thought this was just a movie like an action or Sci-fi one not a documentary
type of thing but it is a good one. It as a great visual style that sticks with you as it is
mainly done as a "motion comic" similar to what was done with Watchmen where the
panels are animated and the story comes alive.
The Las Vegas scene reminded me of what was shown in the 3rd Resident Evil movie
"extinction" but with that being said this like many other share a similar formula.
It is almost like it employs scare tactics and like many similar to it it in subject
matter it is certain in what it says this is no "if" or "might" there is only
"it WILL happen like this!" like the science is absolute and infallible, but at the same
time you can watch another Doc that says the exact opposite thing.
also like many others it is very pessimistic and only deals with a worst case
scenario this is no optimism and when a shred appears it is quickly dashes with more
talk of the End of Days. when watching stuff like this makes me think about things like
what happened to the space program? by like 2083 wouldn't we be out exploring and boldly
going where not man as gone before in a possible "star trek" type of fashion?
at least have a colony on Mars or some other earth like planet? these types of
things don't really address stuff like that they mainly just say were stuck here and
were screwed, deal with it!
like I said there is very little "if or might" in these types of things also isn't
the world going to end in 2012? lol if so we don't have to worry about getting to
2083 and by 2015-2025 aren't we suppose to be in the war with the machines
who are out to terminate us by then? lol
but all in all it is was very good but I wouldn't take it for 100% fact becasue
you never know I think the best part of the whole thing was the end were they
gave you a tiny bit of "what if" but still it was mainly focused on the bad and
you have to look on the bright side and be optimistic and build a better future not
one that involves death and destruction.

Esoteric Agenda

Well I would have to say it was longer then most at over 2 hours, where most of these are an
hour and a half/45 mins. Now I would have to say as these cooky doc go this one by far takes
the cake it has everything in it and more and introduces some new stuff such as "The Order"
and "The Mystery Religion" and something called Agenda 21. also I learned some things in
this such as Global Warming causes things like polio. Also the Mass Media and movies such as
Harry Potter are made solely to push the Mass Media agenda and make you feel stupid?
as well as if you by any product you are in fact funding the New World Order becasue they
will own you through your materialism and in fact when they come to power they well come and
take everything you own away so you don't really "own" anything anyway you are just holding
it for a little while. Also you will come to pay for your materialism with something called
the "Amerio"? they also mention something called a UN Peace keeping force which I heard
somewhere else will be called "F.O.E" which stands for Forces Of Earth. Also you should
not get a job being that when you do get a job you will no longer be a Natural Person but in
fact you will become a Artificial Person. and apparently if your name appears in all caps
on any document that means a man's condition changes from freedom to Bondage and all rights
of citizenship and family rights are surrendered! so they can just pick you up off the
street and throw you in jail just for that. lol like I said this one had everything even
your pal and mine Alex Jones has a voice over (hell yeah! lol) all this was missing was
Aliens and "Planet X" and it would have been perfect even if it did get a bit of spiritual
and metaphysical near the end it was still a fun watch all the same.

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby

I'm not a big fan of Nascar or car racing in general but I have been to a few races being
that we have a race track were I live and it is a big thing in the summer anyway..I wanted to
see this being that the trailers looked funny, but what is up with Will Ferrell and all the
sports movies? I'm surprised he didn't do a wrestling one or baseball yet.
anyway this lived up to the trailers it was very funny, very one seemed retarded in it but
that just made it funnier. Also there was alot of familiar faces in this as well its kinda
of fun pointing out all of them but I guess when your Will Ferrell you can have anyone you want in the movie.
as I was saying some good laughs, nice camera work great writing and acting makes this a fun
movie to watch.

American Summer (the pool boys)

featuring Matthew Lillard,Tom Arnold and George Takei! that's right I said George Takei!!
this wasn't the greatest movie but it was fun and entertaining there were a few laughs
but plenty of very beautiful woman, lots of nice T&A jiggling and bouncing through
the story is a simple one and is very teen comedy and also features a Gimp fighting a
Unicorn. Now when it started about 7 mins in I thought this is going to be good and I have to say it
was pretty enjoyable. if you want to waist some time and watch something with some zany
characters and hot girls pop this one on.

American Dirtbag

This was a rather good yet sad movie it was well written and very well acted
the two main characters seem like they are very cookie cutter at the start
she is the popular cheerleader type and he is the bad boy from "the wrong side of the tracks"
but they blow passed that and have very deep meaningful performances.
they are 2 people thrust together by how there names appear on the attendance list
there lives are different on the out side but very similar on the inside.
and that almost gives them some common ground. he is a real jerk to her in the beginning
and I was wondering why until I seen how this home life is and it was no surprise
and speaking of which I did like how both their home lives were shown from a color
perspective hers is very bright and cheerful where his is depicted as very dull and
gray you could almost say when they begin to develop their friendship it is like
she somewhat brings color into his world and that is where it goes a rye
when they develop their relationship they are pretty good together until he tries
to take it to the next level and she shoots him down he becomes hateful and possessive
towards her almost violent and jealous towards the ones around her. you can kind of
say that he does not want to let go of the color she injected into his world and
ends up doing the "if I can't have her I don't want to live" thing and tries to take
his own life in the middle of class. she feels guilty but moves on and there is
some snippets of life after the suicide attempt were she sees him in public that seem
kind of weird and out of place but maybe that is how it was suppose to look
I don't know. it is a sad end though but somewhat give closer to her and the experience
also this says it was inspired by a true story I'm thinking maybe since this was written
and directed by a woman that she was the main female character and this happened to her?
I can't say for certain but it would make sense.

Alice in Wonderland 2010

Like most I grew up watching the original Disney Animated Alice in Wonderland much like
everyone else, but do remember at one point seeing a live action version when I was little
along with a live action Snow White...? but that is besides the point. when I heard about
this I knew it would be interesting especially since Tim Burton was in charge due to his
rather unique style and I'd say "neo-gothic" look he smears all over everything and of
course that comes through in this thing in spades. While watching I kept thinking to myself
"is this some sort of sequel to the animated film" being that Alice is all grown up and
making a second trip to Wonderland.
With that in mind while watching it made me thinking of other similar movies such as 1985s
Return to Oz (another Disney feature) and 1991s Hook. Now while watching this film I hate
to say I felt very disinterested..? The effects were perfect I did so like the Cheshire Cat
as well as the the production design and being a Tim Burton film the usual regulars are in
here. I found Johnny Depp played a Mad Hatter who was truly mad and he was fun to watch as
always and did get a lough out of some of the stuff in the film much like some of the things
the Red Queen says but still while watching I felt very disinterested like I could careless
what happens to the characters or the world itself the movie must have been lacking something
I don't know what it was but something..I was interested in seeing it but during and after
seeing it I felt very "meh" about the whole thing. it was good in ways but in the long run
I don't think it lived up to what I thought it was going to be and that is truly a shame.
