Adam
I waited and waited to see this. The movie was a nice portrayal of someone with this
rather odd disorder. I wouldn't say it was 100% actuate but it was very very close
but then again every case is different. The subject of this film was interesting to me
being that I know about it from personal experiences and wanted to see this because of that.
I felt that it was a very heart felt little film that captures many aspects of someone
who is living with this very difficult and very frustrating disorder and what people
with it have to deal with and how they struggle in a world that seems Foreign and doesn't
understand. The acting I felt had realism as well as it being nicely shot and written I did
laugh at scenes being that like I said I have had experiences with the subject matter I think
is is one of the most over looked films in a while and that it should be given a chance and
be watched and hopefully something is learned or taken way from the film.
Planet Hulk
I picked this up on blu ray the other day I felt kind of guilty in watching it being I
haven't read the books yet I have the whole thing also what becomes before it and after it I
just haven't gotten a chance to real it all yet. your basic story is earth's mightiest
heroes have deemed the Hulk to powerful and dangerous to be left on earth so he is exiled to
outer space but something goes wrong and he crashes on I would say Marvel's version of
"Warworld" (those who follow DC books would be familiar with it) and he is forced to compete
in the games and rises up with the help of new friends to over throw the tyrannical ruler.
first off if you are looking for plenty of "Hulk Smash!" this has that in spades but even
thought it has a lot of brilliant, exciting fights and action sequences this also has a nice
well thought out plot and some very moving imagery. It truly is the Hulk like you have never
seen before. I also am pleased with this Direct to video features that both Marvel and DC are
doing I think I mentioned it on here before in another review that I'm happy that they are
doing them on the PG-13 level for the older fans and not making them for the general
audiences because if they did I wouldn't think they would be as good or as popular as they
are if they were for little kids.
Post Grad
Well first off I thought this was going to be the typical "chic flick" that makes you gag
but actually it is pretty good and doesn't conform to the chic flick stereotype I think it
would be more of a family movie about a young lady, her dreams and her crazy family. This is
also helped along by an all star cast, nice writing and being well shot. Michael Keaton
stands out in this as the crazy but well meaning father and gives the movie the majority of
its laughs.
the only thing that bugged me about it was the one who played Jessica (Catherine Reitman) she
sounds like a man! I mean come on that is a rather deep manish voice for a young woman.
also Alexis Bledel's eyes were weird they were like so blue they were glowing. anyway its an
alright movie it was a fun watch.
House of the Devil
This was pretty good but I doubt it is "Based on a True Story..." as it clams.
it stars Tom Noonan (Cain from Robocop 2 and Ripper from Last Action Hero) I didn't
recognize him at first but as soon as he started talking I was all "Hey that's..."
also the one who Samantha (Jocelin Donahue) was very cute I have to say I did enjoy watching
her in this. As for the movie it has a nice 70's/80's feel to it which I think made it
better over all but this also reminds me of another movie I seen not to long ago I think it
was called Babysitter Wanted when the kid is a demon or something. anyway..this was pretty
good it was a bit slow going but it kept you interested and almost one your toes I though a
few time while Samantha was roaming about the house something was going to jump out but it
didn't and speaking of which why do movies like this take place out in the middle of no
where? I guess for the seclusion you can kill as many people as you want if you live out in
the country *S* but Samantha should have listened to her friend and left oh well to late
now. but all in all it was an alright movie I didn't find it scary it was more atmospheric
"what is going to happen next" type of thing
I Believe in UFOs
This was a pretty good Doc it was fun and and light hearted and the host comes off as a
generally likable guy. I also believe in them as well and if you are interested in the topic
give it a watch.
Family Guy Presents: Something Something Something Dark Side
I wanted to see this when I first seen the trailer I enjoy Family guy I wouldn't say I'm a
fan but I do like it and I did enjoy the first Star Wars thing they did. Now while watching
this you can really tell they put a lot of work into it the animation is perfect the jokes are
laugh out loud funny even familiar gags seem to have a whole new light in this. The first
one was good and this one takes it to a whole new level and surpasses it and you can truly
tell they intended this for a direct to video release and not to be put on TV being it has a
little bit of foul language but I'm happy they went right to DVD because if they made this
for TV it wouldn't have been as good and probably would have cheapened it. but I was pleased
very pleased with it.
Now I wonder once they do Return of the Jedi will they do the prequels also or just leave it
at that, I guess only time will tell.
Elvira, Mistress of the Dark
I truly never seen this before now. I was somewhat familiar with the character
some what due to her popularity in the late 80s and early 90s as well as through
various pop-culture references but never true knew anything about her other then the
basics and never seen this so I took the opportunity to watch this for the first
time and I have to say it was pretty good the story was a bit predictable
but it was well done and was quite funny it did give me a few laughs
and the one playing Elvira truly made this enjoyable to watch
so I would have to say I rather liked it and could watch it again.
