The Decent: Part2

I remember Watching the first one when it came out on DVD and of course it boasted the title that most horror movies claim to be which is "the scariest movie of all time" now I didn't think the first one was scary and I have to say the same about this one I didn't find this one scary at all either.
This "Part 2" is a logical sequel where the girls have gone missing and a search party is sent to find them (see what I mean logical). Now this wasn't a bad movie it its good in a way and follows a good time line and there was some good visuals in this also the various ways of killing off some of the creatures were interesting as well as the thing with the "rat in the mouth" around the beginning was pretty cool and I also liked how you had a chance to get a nice good look at the creatures in this one I like seeing the creature design not just have it as a quick shadowy flash or blur and this movie carried on the sense and feel of the claustrophobic feel and look of the first one. The only thing I don't understand is how the ending was suppose to work? The movie was alright up until that point I'd have to say it didn't much much sense why was the guy waiting there? how did he know at what time someone if anyone would come out? and she took off running how would he know she would stop at that spot and why did he drag her back? I don't know. but like I said it was a pretty good sequel if you love the first one you will like this one also.

My Teachers Wife

Well I have to say that this wasn't bad at all I don't think it was a comedy, there were a few parts in it that gave me a laugh here and there and I think Zak Orth who played "Faber" is actually who made this film funny. of course it also had some familiar faces in it such as Jeffrey Tambor, Christopher McDonald and of course Tia Carrere (schwing!) and speaking of which she does have somewhat of a topless scene in this. Also Jason London who played the main character "Todd Boomer" in this looks so much like Brendan Fraser its unbelievable! but I'd have to say I liked this the dream sequences as well as the animated ones gave me a smile they were well done and interesting but the movie itself like I said was pretty good but then again there are similar ones out there like this but still there is nothing wrong with this one it is a fun watch.

The NEXT Karate Kid

As The Karate Kid Remake plays on the big screen this weekend I conclude my viewing of the series with the true end of the series The NEXT Karate Kid.
I remember watching this for the first time on video when it came out in the 90s and thinking that the girl in it ( who was at the time a relatively unknown Hilary Swank) was the hottest thing ever! she is still pretty good looking but as much as she was in this or at least that is what I thought then. Now at the very first you can tell that it was going to be a different film then the previous 3 but does share many of the elements from the earlier movies as well and being new and different. but truly you have that feeling that this is the last go at the series at the time it was made you can just picture how that meeting when
"what are we going to do next?"
"Daniel's gone so lets make it a girl!"
" thats perfect I'm sold on that idea! lets make it!"
and speaking of which it doesn't really explain what happen to Daniel, is he in college, moved away, settled down with a girl? Mr.Miyagi doesn't really say other then the face that he lived with a friend my the name of Daniel. Now that he has a new female student it gives Mr.Miyagi a whole new set of challenges but I find that the dynamic between the two really does work and is carried well in the film. I didn't find this one hat the humor that the others did although the Monks bowling was a bit funny there isn't much in the way of humor in here but the acting was pretty good and it was nicely shot so you can't really complain to much. It is a fun and enjoyable film.

The Karate Kid PART III

Continuing on with our Karate kid viewing in honor of the up cumming remake I present to you The Final Chapter of The karate Kid Trilogy The karate Kid...PART III.
I never watched this before before now it was an interesting film and shows what happened to the Cobra Kais, and after Miyagi humiliates their master, Kreese. He is a broken man with no students and no money. I don't know why he is as upset as he is someone was bound to beat him at some point he couldn't be the champ forever there is always someone better then you somewhere. but caring his personal vendetta he seeks help from a friend so basically Kreese hires a hit man who in turn hires some goons to strong arm this boy and old man its kind of funny when you think of it. Also the other guy training him to fail which is kind of stupid being that they are engineering (or at least trying to) their win it would just make it a very hollow meaningless victory but I guess that doesn't matter when you are a villain the winning is more important I guess. Also why did he have trouble punching through a 2x4? in the second one he punched through 6 solid chunks of ice on his first try so i don't understand the difficulty on that.
Also Daniel works quick with the ladies in this but I also thought he shouted alot in this one it was like all he was going was shouting at people. I would have to say I did laugh at the "sweeping joke" and I'm no mountain/cliff climb expert but should they have been wearing some boots doing that? I don't think sneakers were proper footwear for that activity lol
all in all it was a pretty good movie in away it reminded me of Spider-Man3 of all things
were he turns on everything he learned and away from the path of the hero and becomes a villain of sorts, then finds redemption when he breaks away from the darkness and comes out a hero once again.

The Karate Kid PART II

Continuing on with our Karate kid viewing in honor of the up cumming remake I present to you The karate Kid...PART II.
I don't think I watched this before or at least in its entirety. I believe I seen bits and pieces of it but never the whole thing from start to finish. It was interesting to see almost a role reversal here where in the first one you see Daniel and what his life is like, where he comes from and follows his story but this one is more focused on Mr. Miyagi and you get to see more of where he comes from and follows his story as it fleshes out more of his past and background.
Like I said it pretty much follows the same story points as the first just changes location and characters which is not a bad thing it makes for a very interesting and enjoyable film. This is a very worthy follow up to the original film and complements it perfectly. I would also have to day the character of Sato was a very good villain I like him very much. Anyway I thought is was very emotional at times and seemed to have alot more humor then the first it was also nicely shot with some very beautiful scenery. but like I said this was actually quite good but man that Daniel guy no matter where he goes he runs a foul of someone who ends up wanting to kick his butt! lol
