Case 39

I thought the case looked interesting and it sounded good from the description
so I thought I would give it a watch. people will probably groan knowing it stars
Renée Zellweger but personally I like her myself and think she is a good actress
it was different seeing her in this role being that she usually plays the cute innocent
girl type and speaking of acting this was very well acted I was impressed.
The only problem I had was I figured out what the little girls secret was with in
the first 20mins I guess that come with watching to many movies you can guess
what some things are before you reach that point in the movies oh well but
this was a good watch not a lot of scares but good all the same the most notable
thing about this would have to be the Wasp/hornet scene that was pretty cool and pretty
impressive but a over all good movie if I were to describe it it would be probably
the Orphan meets the Omen anyway its a good watch I enjoyed it.

Day of the Dead (1985)

Well since I seen Night of the living Dead (1968) and Dawn of the Dead and its Remake
I thought I would finish off the whole thing and watch this as well this was the first time I
have seen this movie completely I remember watching bits and pieces of it here and there but
never the full movie. It was interesting film not a lot of fast paced action like you would
see in many Zombie style movies it was very slow at parts. I would have to say kind of a
different type of zombie movie not very frighting but kind of bland until the last say 20
mins and it does share that religious aspect at one point the whole "god is mad and cursed us
by making the dead walk such and such" that you hear at times during these type of movies
also Some of the scenes reminded me of scenes I see in Resident Evil:Extension which was some
what funny in a way. The effect were pretty good especially the head ripping scene also but
The one thing that stood out to me was the character of Captain Rhodes man that guy was an
asshole he must have been probably one of the biggest ones I ever seen on film or close to it
I was just waiting for the moment for the zombies to get him and I was happy when they did.
also the ending was kind of off they are surely doomed them appear on a sunny beach? so does
that mean they escaped? I think they also used that ending in Planet Terror but not sure
anyway it was alright but I don't think it was as good as the previous ones.

Balls of Furry

This always looked funny so I did want to see it for a while
its your typical sports comedy much like all sports comedies
something happens to the protagonist and he must use the selected
sport to over come the obstacle/bad guy/prove he is the best/win some type of
money for some reason and so on you know the various plots from Happy Gilmore to Dodge ball
there is nothing really new. Now this movie was pretty good it was very funny
hand some good gags including some Matrix style "bullet time" scenes which made me
laugh also there are a lot of famous faces in this including Christopher Walken
who is of course always fun to watch. all in all this was a pretty good movie
I did enjoy it.

Sherlock Homes (2009)

I went to see this with a friend of mine since we couldn't get into to see Avatar
and I would have to say I rather enjoyed it. I thought it was beautifully shot,
edited and acted it is a bit wordy and talky but I think that added to the over
all picture I loved the whole deduction and thought process scenes and slow motion parts
it was all very interesting and fascinating getting a glimpse almost into his
brilliant mind. Holmes and Watson were the perfect duo as portrayed in this
film. I thought there was enough humor and action to balance out the
the rest of the film if I were to describe what this film was like
I'd say it would be a cross between Batman Begins and Sleepy Hollow
but all in all it was a fun, interesting and very enjoyable watch.

The Echo

I remember someone telling me this was pretty good so I wanted to check it out
the only person in this I recognize in this is Kevin Durand who played Fred Dukes/Blob
in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Now this movie is another Asian remake similar to others
like it such as Dark Water, Shutter, The Grudge to name a few and it wasn't that bad
it was a pretty good movie I thought it was very spooky and just dripped creepiness
it is a good watch if you want something interesting and fun.

Stepfather 2009

I wanted to see this for a while being that I did enjoy the original
Now this is a story that could be done in many different ways much
like another "based on a true story" movie by the name of Walking Tall
I like how this resembled the original Stepfather in many ways while at
the same time seem new and fresh for today's audiences. I also like
how they included America's Most Wanted in this retelling being that
they were instrumental in capturing the real person the David character
was biased on. I thought it moved kinda of slow in the beginning but once it
started rolling it became better I have to say there is a lot more action
in this version then the original but all in all it was pretty good I like it.

Night of the living Dead 1968

This would have to be the first time I have seen this movie completely
I remember watching bits and pieces of it here and there but never the full movie
Now I have seen Dawn of the Dead and its Remake a few years ago but never seen this
it really did surprise me it was a very good movie for its time and of course budget
I was quite impressed one of the things that impressed me the most was the acting
especially by the black guy he came off as so very real in his portrayal of his character
the part where he describes encountering the zombies for the first time is delivered with
such honestly you can't help but believe he actually witnessed the story he tells.
the others were good as well the character of cooper was was a good counter point
character and I noticed that the zombies were quite intelligent by using tools
to smash and break things but all in all the black guy's character
is what made the movie its a shame he survived the night only to be shot by the cops
and that rev was a bit crazy at the end but all in all it was a very good movie.

Children of the Corn 2009

I watched the original Children of the Corn for the first time a few years ago and thought it
was alright but I don't remember much about it other then the basics. Then a few months ago I
was out doing some shopping and happened upon this on DVD and was surprised to see they did a
remake even if it was a made for TV one. Now I have had probably more favorable reaction to
remakes them probably most people some are very good and other not so much so I was
interested in giving it a look and I was pleased I did This is pretty much the similar story
I remember and it stars
David Anders (Adam Monroe/Takezo Kensei from Heroes) The movie itself was very good at least
I thought so I like how it was filmed the camera work was very good it always seemed like
there was someone watching the main characters and speaking of which the acting in this is
quite good as well even the background music was perfect, but man was the guys wife was no
fun at all I would hate to be trapped in a car with her on a long drive she was just
constantly shouting at him she just seemed to be a very hateful angry woman. also the scene
when the mob of kids were chasing the dude down the street was kind of funny I had to laugh.
I did like how he got lost in the corn and started to go crazy that was neat but the ending
was kinda quick and felt a bit rushed it leaves me to think did the guy go down fighting or
was he taken out by some otherworldly force before they found him and turned him into a
scarecrow? all in all the movie was great it wasn't really scary but very creepy and
somewhat unnerving.
