Superman/Batman: Apocalypse (2010)

"Time to Die Man of Steel"

-Darkseid

I picked this one up on Blu ray when it came out as I so with all the DC Animated films and would have to say that this one like the others does not disappoint. Superman & Batman team up again with the inclusion of Wonder Woman as they battle pure evil itself the always malevolent Darkseid. As the New God himself tries to take a young woman who turns out to be Superman's long lost cousin Kara Zor-El and twist her in his evil plans to take out the Man of Steel. Biased on the award winning Superman/Batman comic book series this animated feature packs one hell of a punch with is slight humor and explosive action that should please fans the world over.

Featuring a familiar voice cast as well as Summer Gaul as Supergirl/Kara
filled with an engaging story, perfect animation , wonderful designs and like
mentioned before Jaw Dropping action you don't want to look away from.
This movie is a must watch/have for any fan young or old.

Also this one came with another DC showcase short featuring the Emerald Archer
Green Arrow.

I thought this was good it was just as good as the others from the previous
DC Animated Adventures. The Style was very similar to that which was used in
The Johna Hex Animated short were I have to say Black Canary looked almost
the same as the Hooker voiced by Linda Hamilton. But I do have to say
that I did like this style though.
Also Malcolm McDowell as Merilyn the Magnificent was pretty cool also.

Batman: Under the Red Hood

I went to pick this up on release day and on Blu-ray of course. Like Ii do with all the DC Animated movies.
and like all the other ones I was not disappointed. The story flowed with great ease and if you didn't already
know the out come this would have a great mystery to it as you follow the Dark Knight as he searches for the answer of "Who is the red hood?"
I would have to say all the chase and fight sequences are amazingly done. The animation is so perfectly flawless
you loose sight that you are actually watching an animated film. Some of the best scenes in this feature are supplied by the villain Black Mask he comes off as such an over the top villain you just have to laugh some times. Also other scenes that were great of course involved the Joker who had some good dialog in this
although the voice casting was very good and Bruce Greenwood did do a very good Batman,
I felt John Di Maggio didn't do an equally as good Joker I felt he lacked something in his voicing of the character but that might just be me. As for the rest of the voice cast they did very well.
One of the best parts of this was the show down at the end where Red Hood and Batman have their confrontation and the intense moment that follows that includes the Joker. It was a great climax to a awesome movie. and Speaking of the end the end credits thing with the rain drops touching down and splashing was cool to watch.
The special features are pretty standard on this much like the previous DC ones with a preview of the next one, Some Documentarys and some TV episodes.
As for the DC Showcase animated short I love these things I thought The Spectre one was very good and with this we have one for Jonah Hex (probably becasue of the movie) I would have to say this for just a little 10minute thing boasted some big names for voice talent such as Tomas Jane, Linda Hamilton and Jason Marsden. This was very good also I like the story and the animation again was perfectly flawless and it had a nice end to it that made me laugh. in the end this was a great adaption of more DC works and I can't wait for the next.
